WHAT IS COMMUNITY EDUCATION?
Educating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women is an important part of our work. There is less access to reliable infomration for people living in regional, rural, remote and very remote (4Rs) areas. We tap into our networks and community connections to share our knowledge of human rights and issues that impact our 4Rs indigenous communities.
We aim to improve access to and the ability to participate in the justice system
We aim to prevent legal matters from escalating through education and understanding rights
We respond to local community needs by requests for education sessions
Prevention is an important approach to our education sessions
WHAT IS THE THEME OF OUR SESSIONS?
The themes of our sessions and support with referrals can include the following:
MONEY MANAGEMENT
SELF-ESTEEM AND HEALTH RELATIONSHIPS
EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP
PARENTING

WHAT IS COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATION?
Community Legal Education is not legal advice for an individual and their circumstances. We can develop custom-made sessions for community groups, stakeholders or others who we may mutually benefit from. We prioritise sessions that focus on our priority areas.
